How do I measure performance -IRR, MOIC/TVPI, DPI- and set up simple reporting?

Use three fund metrics:

● MOIC/TVPI: total value (NAV + distributions) divided by capital paid in—your multiple on invested capital.
‍
● DPI: cash returned to you divided by capital paid in (realized multiple).

● IRR: time‑weighted return (sensitive to timing, assumptions, and interim marks).


For angels, a lightweight dashboard (spreadsheet or portfolio tool) tracking cost, current value/last round, distributions, write‑offs, and DPI is enough. Treat marks cautiously; focus on DPI over time.
